I have a friend who is sick this weekend and is about to bottoms up a bottle of cold medicine and black out for the weekend. This got me thinking, have you ever noticed how strange dreams always are when you’re sick? For whatever reason, when your sick is when the psychedelic monkeys decide to run amuck to the sound of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida playing over the PA at ear splitting decibels, while the circus clowns run from the elephants in their tiny cars. Maybe that’s why it’s so hard to actually get a good nights sleep when your sick, who can sleep through all of that? I’m not sure that taking something to help hold you in that twisted mindscape of feverish dreams is the best way to go. Personally, I would prefer something that would keep me awake and help me get better, without having to be thrust into a world that is the effect of a brain undergoing boiling extremes. The mind is a terrible thing to experience when it goes on the fritz and is completely out of control. I just thank God that I’m not crazy, can you imagine that kind of experience being the every day norm? The voices and I have discussed it and we have come to a unanimous outcome that we are decidedly happy we are not sanity challenged.
